My name is John Strange, M.D. I am an emergency room physician in Virginia. I remember the stresses that were involved during the megacode testing of the ACLS and PALS courses. I am developing these medical education courses to teach instant recall during very stressful testing simulations. The information found within will help you excel in the megacode testing... painlessly.

These medical education videos and study guides use unique teaching techniques that make immediate recall of the material automatic - under the most stressful situations. As you apply the techniques, the information will automatically come second nature to you. Acronyms and mnemonics alone won't work. You can learn to instantly recall the material. Under the stress of running a code, you are always in danger of having a "brain-freeze."

You won't find fancy bells, whistles, or pop-ups. These materials do not come with CME credit or any other type of certification. However, if you are looking for a course to teach quick recall of important medical knowledge under stress, you are at the right place.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) aims at improving outcomes of patients with cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies.

ACLS megacode testing often strikes fear into the hearts of many health care professionals. I have seen competent nurses, residents, and doctors become tongue-tied when it comes their turn to be the team leader in a simulated megacode.

The videos and study guides available on this site were developed to remove the tension from the simulated ACLS megacode. Megacode algorithm practice techniques teach instant recall of the ACLS guidelines, making your survival of the megacode testing painless while improving the survival of your real-life patients. One study guide is devoted to passing the ACLS Written Test Exam. It feature comprehensive questions with answers based on ACLS guidelines 2010-2013.

The videos and study guides available on this site are intended to compliment, clarify, and simplify basic concepts of the Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course (ACLS). They do not take the place of state or federal laws, any certified training course, reasonable clinical judgement, or specific practices and procedures established by your facility.

Clinical practice is a dynamic process and new information becomes available daily. Prudent practice dictates that the clinician consult further sources prior to applying information, whether in printed or video, obtained from this or any program. PALS Megacode Survival

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is designed for health care workers who respond to emergencies of critically ill children. A systematic approach helps to improve survival for these children.

While the PALS course includes a simulated megacode, in pediatrics recognition that a child has a serious condition is vital. Heart attacks are rare in children. Most pediatric codes follow hypoxia and hypovolemia. Pediatric patients compensate very well for any condition. When they eventually code, they are very hard to save, which makes running the perfect megacode even more important. Teaching techniques create instant recall, making the running of the perfect megacode quite painless. As you practice the techniques, the megacode becomes second nature.

These materials will not only help you survive the PALS megacode test, but will also help improve the outcomes of your real-life critically ill patients.
